Always interesting to hear your thoughts. If you think PVF.UN did well you should check the warrants. Also saw some PVF/V pref in there. How’d you assess this one?
The warrants are another step in the evolution - the highest form of Pokemon if you will. And the reason I don't own those, despite eventually figuring out that it was the best security to own, is because I had already owned BAM, then PVF, then by the time I figure PVF.WT was the one to own I already had more or less a full position and either laziness or something else prevented me from buying it. Trust me, I kick myself...
The PVF preferred is PVF.PR.V, which I did no assessment of. I received one share per unit of PV F that I owned under the reorganization late last year. It's literally a <0.1% position. Selling the shares is hardly worth the commission I'd have to pay, and I have never looked closely at it to know if buying more would be wise, so it just remains there at the bottom of my RRSP paying out a dividend worth a cup of coffee quarterly.
One reason that might have prevented you from buying PVF.WT is extreme lack of liquidity. And maybe I've already said too much because the first rule of PVF is you don't talk about PVF!
Greetings from Auckland, New Zealand. Thanks for the 2024 annual letter. I always enjoy reading your posts and thoughts. I hope you have a prosperous and healthy 2025.
Good write-up. Hope Cooper starts pounding the buyback at DRM. So much potential there with a pipeline of positive catalysts in 2025.
Thanks for a nice update. Was already looking at Canadian Energy stocks and will give strathcona a closer look.
Thanks for taking the time to write updates on the business you wrote on, I invested in secure energy after reading your article 👍.
Glad to hear you liked it, and luckily Secure has worked out for us.
